TPGC’s IRENE McGOWAN Honor Board Tournament

The Irene McGowan Trophy, a TPGC Honor Board tournament started in 1956 in memory of Irene McGowan, a Tilden Park Golf Course waitress loved by TPGC members and noted for her pies. Format: Medal play, low net at full handicap, Blue Tees.

Particiants: Paul Lozito, Jesse Sechak, Marc LaJoie, Ron Vincent, Mike Cooper, Will Bard, David Hom, Barry Witt, 2023 Club Champion Jeremy Steinkoler

TPGC’s Qualifier for the NCGA Sr. Four-Ball Championship

First played in 1967, the NCGA Zone Championship is a four-person team event among other clubs in fourteen regional areas of Northern California.  Plumas Lake G&CC holds the record for the most wins with three (2008, 2010 & 2019).  Four clubs have won twice: Palo Alto Hills (1968, 1970), Del Rio G&CC (1969, 2013), Kings CC (1977, 2003) and Churn Creek GC (1993, 2012). No club has ever repeated as champion.

Format:  Individual stroke play from White Tees at 85% handicap.
