DESCRIPTION:TPGC’s Qualifier for the NCGA NEB Zone Championship\nSunday\, February 23\, 2024\, 8:00am\nFirst played in 1967\, the NCGA Zone Championship is a four-person team event among other clubs in fourteen regional areas of Northern California.  Plumas Lake G&CC holds the record for the most wins with three (2008\, 2010 & 2019).  Four clubs have won twice: Palo Alto Hills (1968\, 1970)\, Del Rio G&CC (1969\, 2013)\, Kings CC (1977\, 2003) and Churn Creek GC (1993\, 2012). No club has ever repeated as champion.\nFormat:  Individual stroke play from White Tees at 85% handicap.\nTo sign up for this event\, one can register on the club’s website or send an email to TildenGolf@gmail.com.\nWinner’s will advance to the NCGA qualifier at Poppy Hills and Del Monte – April 7-8\, 2025. DESCRIPTION:THE TOP TEN SHOOTOUT\nA very unique and highly anticipated event taking place in November. Members who accumulate the most Top Ten Points at tournaments throughout the year qualify for this event (at every TPGC tournament\, members win points for 1st through 10th place). \nFORMAT: Members who have accumulated the most Top Ten Points meet on the 10th Tee at 7:00am for this 9-hole event. If one or more of the Top Ten is not present by 7:00am\, the next in order of Top Ten Points can take the absent player’s or players’ place(s). Handicaps are re-calculated by the Top Ten Director(s) so as to allow for no strokes on hole #18. A player with the highest score on each hole is eliminated. Ties are settled with a Chip-Off\, all chip-off participants being obligated to turn away from seeing each player’s chip. SUMMARY:Texdahl/Johnson Trophy Tournament
DESCRIPTION:TEXDAHL/JOHNSON TROPHY\nEstablished by Don Texdahl\, a Club Champion (1978) and Club member for many years until his death in 1993 after enjoying a round of golf. An excellent golfer and a real gentleman\, Don competed in 37 consecutive State Amateur Tournaments as well as others\, including the 1980 US Senior Amateur Championship at Virginia Hot Springs. He won the 1982 San Francisco City Championship at Harding Park and competed in the 1963 Lucky-International Pro/Am Tournaments with partners Jack Nicklaus\, Bobby Nichols\, and Miller Barber. The Texdahl/Johnson Honor Board tournament is named after the sporting goods outlet operated by Don and his partner Johnson. Originally played at Aptos Seascape Golf Course for several years it moved to Oakmont in Santa Rosa where Don retired.
